Where Did Texas Come From?
Central Texas Area Museum announces its annual Genealogy Workshop on Saturday, June 23, 2007. Registration begins at 9:00am and the program commences promptly at 10:00am. Lunch will be served and refreshments available throughout the day.
Special emphasis this year will be on the settlement of Texas in the period between the end of the Texas Revolution in 1836 and Texas Statehood in 1845.
The following question(s) will be examined:
- Who were these settlers who came to Texas between 1836 and 1845?
- What was their origin and motivation for relocation?
- What parts of Texas were settled at that time?
The Central Texas Area Museum will feature Gayland Greaser, a distinguished member of the staff of the Texas Land Office, Austin, Texas. He is considered renowned in his field of expertise. A noted researcher, his knowledge of state resources is invaluable.
The 2007 CTAM Genealogy Workshop will take place on Saturday, June 23rd beginning at 9:00am at the Central Texas Area Museum's Scots Hall of the Clans Auditorium located at 423 Main St., Salado, Tx.
